Sivry-sur-Meuse and

Oswald Boelcke

The story of Oswald Boelcke and Sivry-sur-Meuse is a very special one.

Most of all because of the fact that one can step almost literally in his footsteps between March and June 1916.

The village looks for the largest part still the same as it did at the time.

The house where he lived, the former Kommandantur, Lazarett and even his aerodrome have barely changed since the Great War.

Let us take you on a visit to this small and beautiful village in the Argonne region, close to the city of Verdun, a city and region that suffered so deeply from the Great War, and where the scars in the landscape are still very visible today.
